International travel with pet

International travel with pets is quite involved. Moving your pet overseas or transporting you dog to Australia requires a lot of paper work, inoculations, inserting a chip and time in kennels.

And many other overseas countries require the same. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just climb on an aeroplane with our dog and fly? It does not work like that – You will not travel with you pet – Animal travel requires that your dog goes in the hold of the aeroplane – in a wooden dog box, and with a mountain of paper work.

Any mistakes in the process means your dog get shipped straight back to where it came form. Dog shipping and pet transport needs to be done by an international pet transport company. No kind of insurance is going to cover that!

It does not help to find an expert at pet travel South Africa when they are not experts at international pet travel. The pet shipper  will have to have partners and contacts with an animal transport company in the destination country. Whilst they have to deal with humans, you dog or cat is what they put first!
